WHO WE ARE.

mission box 1

The Red Society exists to celebrate the vibrant fusion of black and white heritage in Barbados. We are unapologetic in our belief that mixed-race identity is not a confusion, but a superpower.

Our mission is simple: to provide the tools, resources, and community that allow mixed families and individuals to thrive, while fostering a society where unity is the norm, not the exception.

To build a Barbados where every child, regardless of their heritage, feels seen, supported, and celebrated. Where the story of “black meets white” is not a source of division, but the foundation of our shared strength.

Blended Heritage Empowerment

Mixed roots are red strength. We affirm that having multiple heritages is a gift. We provide the scholarships, mentorships, and platforms needed for our youth to turn their unique perspective into leadership.

Interracial Bonds Amplified

Love knows no borders, and neither do we. We champion interracial relationships not as experiments, but as the natural evolution of our society. We offer resources for couples building legacies that bridge divides.

Unity Through Fusion

Red is the colour of lifeblood. We reject the silos of race. Instead, we celebrate the seamless transition of black to white to everything in between. In our scarlet space, there are no divides.

Community of Builders

We are a coalition of donors, families, educators, and leaders who see the “blend” as the future. We mobilize resources to turn potential tension into undeniable solidarity.

Born from the realisation that Barbados is a nation built on convergence, The Red Society was established to fill a critical gap. While many organisations address broad racial issues, few focused specifically on the lived experience of the mixed-race population—the children, the families, and the couples who embody the solution to division every day.

We started with a simple idea: if we celebrate the fusion, the division fades. What began as a small gathering of parents has grown into a movement, backed by the belief that the future of Barbados is written in red.

Led by a diverse board of directors comprising educators, business leaders, and community advocates, The Red Society operates with transparency and integrity. Our advisors include respected figures committed to social cohesion and youth development across the island.
